THE COMPANY

International Coatings is one of the most comprehensive coatings suppliers in Zimbabwe. ICC has been supplying the local market since 2012 and has grown into a recognizable supplier to the coatings market.  Starting out in the decorative industry ICC has grown it’s market share in area’s of Woodfinish, Industrial, waterproofing and Protective Coatings as well as concrete additives and mixture.
 

ICC started out in the Decorative business as the official Distributor for ChemSpec Paint, successfully marketing the DeCo brand of products for 3 years. In early 2015 ChemSpec closed it’s operations and ICC made the strategic move to team up with Prominent Paints, PaintChem Paints, a.b.e Construction Materials, and CIN Coatings. Each of these are specialist coatings suppliers in their respective fields. As an example, Prominent Paints
has been manufacturing architectural coatings in South Africa since 1981, and is a fully integrated part of the PPG Group of Companies.

We have a number of various partnerships that have equally impressive pedigrees.

DIRECTORS

Darren Muirhead
Zimbabwean born, he was educated at Falcon College and then went on to get a BSc Chem Eng degree and a few years later an MBa degree. On the sporting front Darren represented Zimbabwe in the 1991 Rugby World Cup. As brief summary of his working career, Darren had a bursary with PPC Cement for his engineering studies and subsequently went on to work for them for twenty odd years finally attaining the positions of Chief Operating
Officer in Zimbabwe and later General Manager in Botswana. He moved to the coatings industry in 2011 and co-opened ICC in 2012. Darren has since studied with and has been certified by American organization, NACE as a coatings Inspector, Level 2.


Evan Stewart
Zimbabwean born, he was educated at Hartman House and St Georges College and then went on to get a Degree from the University of Tennessee. Evan represented Zimbabwe in 3 Olympic Games in the sport of diving and some notable achievements in his career are, winning a world Title in 1994 as well as Commonwealth Gold, Silver and Bronze. In 2003 he returned to Zimbabwe to partner in a family export business. He Started out in the
paint industry in 2005 as a supplier, then opened a paint application contracting business in 2008 and notable projects being Hellenic and Bishopslea Schools.

TECHINICAL ASSISTANCE

With over 40 years of combined experience in the coatings industry ICC is more than capable of taking care any technical requirement, be it new construction, refurbishing of an existing asset or specialized coatings for manufactured goods or high tech protective coatings in the mining industry - the ICC Team prides itself on it’s customer care and will be there every step of the way from paint specification, to surface preparation, application advise and colour selection.

COLOUR

We use the NCS (Natural Colour System), “the international language of colour” for specification, communication and control of colour in design and is based on the way we see colour and logically describes it. For example SABS has recently adopted this to describe accurately the coatings industry’s (previously contentious) standard colours. Using this system it is possible to describe any imaginable colour based on how it resembles the six elementary colours (white, black, yellow, red, blue and green). All colours are tinted via a state of the art computer system to ensure that your colours are right every time. ICC also utilizes a colour spectrophotometer to ensure that if we need to match a colour it is correct right from the start.

GUARANTEES

Being that ICC is an official distributor for these partners, we are able to offer and support the manufacturer’s guarantee, giving you piece of mind on your project. With our technical assistance at the specification stage ICC is able to offer guarantees on the various products backed by the manufacturer – terms and conditions would apply.

To this end we are committed to training of our staff and those of our customers. With the support of our suppliers we conduct regular training sessions at our offices in Harare to make sure that you are kept up to speed with the latest paint and application technologies, which in turn ensure the end customer gets the best results possible. All of our sales staff have undergone training so you can feel confident that you will be getting the best advice when asking for information or ordering products.
